Stupidity can really get the best of me sometimes. More so, when it comes to the affairs of the heart.
I was busy filling out one of those forms required for new samples at a client’s office, the other day, when this girl that I’ve been fancying (no, she’s not the one I blogged about some months back) for some time came out from one of the conference rooms and went straight to the counter where I was standing.
Although we’re both familiar with each other, we, I mean… I, have never had the chance to talk to her personally. Not that I didn’t have the courage to, I do. It’s just that she was always surrounded by colleagues, or is busy talking to people.
Oh yes folks, it’s the same old story.
She was asking for something from one of the attendants behind the counter when, for about a second or two, our eyes met. It wasn’t one of those long, lustful gaze that one often see in the movies, but a rather meaningless blank stare that can hardly qualify as a “moment”. Heck, I cannot recall now if I had even managed to smile at her or not.
Anyway, after finishing my task I promptly left the counter and sat down on one of the sofas in the lobby to rest a bit. She also left not long after that, and headed back to the conference room, but not after stealing a glance towards my direction.
It was then that I realized that had I just missed a rare opportunity. She was ALONE, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. What the heck was I was thinking then? I could have said something for Pete’s sake — perhaps even something as innocent as, “Hi!”.
Man, talk about having a senior moment…
Know what? I am hopeless, and I deserve be shot. Better yet, they should dip me in a vat of boiling tar first before putting me out of my misery.
Now if you will all excuse me, I need to bang my big fat head against the wall…
I’m now boiling the tar, Pards.
Ha??? Ha???
“…Yes, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Fucking high,
And I don’t think that I’ll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.
You’re beautiful, You’re beautiful,
You’re beautiful, it’s true,
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don’t know what to do,
‘Cause I’ll never be with you…”
BANG!!! then BANG AGAIN!!!
ano ka ba? anak ng! (beyond words ang inis. grrrr!)
next time, iabot mo na ang business card mo, okay? MAUNA KA! at hingan mo ng business card. huwag aanga-anga!
kaasar ka!
BANG!!!!
Panaderos> Hay nako pards, had you been there that day, baka nabatukan mo na ako. It was so stupid of me. I didn’t even realize that THAT was the chance that I’ve been waiting for.
TK> Am not a James Blunt fan but yeah, the song kinda says it all…
Bang!
ah….bro, what a waste! (smile)…
it’s okay lesson learned.
(dont bang too hard the next thing u know u lose everything inside ur head, hahahah)
been awhile since I was here, so many thing I missed.
Get her number and text her “Hi”. That will be a good start.
All is not lost, Pards. I reread your post. Client mo naman pala eh. So puwede ka pang bumalik sa office nila, ‘di ba? If so, you have a chance to redeem yourself.
Suggestion lang iyan para naman magka-happy ending ang story na ito and not a tale of unrequited love. Naks! Hehehe
Sheela> Ouch! I deserve that…
Abaniko> I’ve thought of that too, but decided not to do it lest she thinks I’m stalking her, hehe.
Panaderos> Unfortunately pards, she handles a different department. But don’t worry, I’m cooking up a scheme which I hope will give me a chance to redeem myself, hehe.
(smile)…hahaha….
yeah redeem urself and cant wait for ur next story..tell us… I hope the next time u dont black out okay. Good luck na…
At that age, dapat sugod ng sugod, what have you got to lose, hehe…
senior moment ? hahaha.. that’s funny bro
Hey, if you really, really like the girl that’s what happens. Medyo you will suffer from an instant case of mild paralysis
You will have to wait for another opportunity it looks like and when it happens, just be Andres Bonifacio for a minute or two
awww, and there goes my hope of reading something romantic (and not rant-related) in your blog for a change…
Sheela> Hopefully not, hehe…
TrueBlue> What have I got to lose? Plenty. My reputation, for instance… akala mo naman meron, hehe.
BW> Andres Bonifacio? You mean, “Sugod mga kababayan”?
Hay…
Glenda> The day you read something romantic in this blog will probably be the day the sky falls down, haha.
I feel for you, man. Sayang!!
But you just have to find excuses to go to this client’s office, and hope for another shot, diba?
GUS> Oh I don’t need any excuses. I go to this client’s place almost everyday since they happen to be our biggest account. Yun lang, I don’t get to deal with her personally kaya medyo may kahirapan talaga…
hey, perhaps you can time your visits to their company near lunchtime, para you can eat at the ‘bland-tasting’ food at their canteen and occupy a five-seater table by your lonesome, so there will be chances for the girl and her group to make ’singit’ again?
shucks, my grumpy heart is actually wishing this has a happy ending! haha!
GO GO GO!!!
GUS> I often have lunch in their company canteen, primarily because it’s cheaper there, hehe. Well, I do hope that there will be another chance like that in the very near future. As for a happy ending… we’ll see.
